Disney Channel has long been a bastion of up-and-coming talent. From Hilary Duff to Selena Gomez, Disney Channel manages to secure some of the most successful performers before they're even old enough to drive. Of course, when you get this many young kids together and throw in a healthy dash of fame and success, you're going to find some interesting facts about them behind-the-scenes.

Let's quickly relive the glory days with this very 2000s performance of "Circle of Life" that no one should ever forget...

Here's a collection of some hidden pieces of trivia about some of your favorite Disney stars:

1. Zac Efron

Following High School Musical, Zac Efron was approached by numerous record labels to begin a singing career. He opted to focus on acting, and he turned every single one of them down!

2. Kevin Jonas

Kevin Jonas from Camp Rock and Jonas went by a stage name. His real first name is actually "Paul." No word on why specifically he chose to make this change, but it could be because his father is also Paul Kevin Jonas, and going by "Kevin" differentiates him.

3. Kyle Massey

Kyle Massey was the runner-up on his season of Dancing with the Stars. Though he lost to actress Jennifer Grey, he was christened "The Fresh Prince of DWTS."

4. Demi Lovato

Along with her on-off friend Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato got her first acting gig on Barney and Friends. She was only 10-years-old, and it gave her an early chance to try out her singing chops for a wide audience.

5. Lalaine

Lalaine played best friend Miranda Sanchez on Lizzie McGuire, and many fans were surprised that she didn't appear in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. However, many would be surprised to learn that Lalaine was supposed to reprise her role on a spin-off show called Stevie Sanchez according to her online journal from 2005. It was going to follow her little sister Stevie, and while the pilot episode was shot, Stevie Sanchez wasn't brought to series.

6. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was slated to be Stevie in Lalaine's series! Also, she's been linked to a few teen heartthrobs (namely, Justin Bieber), but her first kiss was onscreen with Dylan Sprouse on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

7. Brenda Song

Disney stars are well-known for their lovefests with fellow actors on the network, but some of them branch into the famous families instead. Brenda Song dated Miley Cyrus' older brother Trace, and the pair even got engaged in 2011 before seemingly breaking up shortly after. Song was seen wearing her engagement ring again in 2013, and recent Instagram posts caused speculation that the couple is back together.

8. Leo Howard

You may not recognize Leo Howard, but he recently earned a pretty impressive distinction for his work on a Disney Channel show. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Leo as the youngest person to direct an episode of a TV series, Kickin' It on Disney XD.

9. Anneliese van der Pol

That's So Raven star Anneliese van der Pol could have been a famous Disney star for an entirely different project. She was originally approached to be the voice of Kim Possible, but she turned it down for the live-action show instead. The role ended up going to Christy Carlson Romano from Even Stevens.

10. Vanessa Hudgens

In 2006, Vanessa's duet with Zac Efron "Breaking Free" made Billboard history with the largest chart jump—from #86 to #4—at that point in time. The High School Musical hit was later surpassed by Akon's "Smack That."

11. Ashley Tisdale

As one of the stars of High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale was flooded with offers after playing Sharpay for three movies. One of these projects was The Vampire Diaries with casting directors wanting Ashley to come in and audition, but she declined.

12. Hilary and Haylie Duff

For The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Hilary Duff plays Lizzie (obviously) as well as her Italian doppelgänger Isabella. However, Isabella's singing voice was actually provided by Haylie Duff, Hilary's sister!
