Speculation on whether aliens, ghosts, and a god exists has been consuming the minds of human beings for centuries. Not to mention mermaids, the Loch Ness Monster, and countless more creatures.

Let's add one more to the list. I wonder how many people believe in fairies?

Apparently there is a large amount of people claiming to have seen one with their very own eyes. Here are a few reasons why we shouldn't discount the possibility of fairies floating around the Earth.

1. No Definite Proof That They Don't Exist

The existence of fairies has never been entirely disproven, and therefore we cannot make the assumption that they don't exist at all.

2. Can You Believe Without Definite Proof?

Many people think a person who believes in fairies lacks logic and is irrational. However, there are many people who reason with a principle called the Non-Overlapping Magisteria (NOMA). NOMA is a philosophical belief that separates religion and science in regards to questioning in order to avoid contradictions between the two.

3. They're Hiding Something From Us!

There is a conspiracy with scientists in which they suppress any and all fairy data.

4. First Account Witnesses

For centuries, people have given testimonials claiming they have had contact with fairies. If a witness is counted as proof in court, why doesn't this rule true for fairies?

5. Sometimes the Scientific Method Isn't the Best Method

Fairies have special qualities that sometimes makes it difficult to study them using the scientific method. Perhaps our science hasn't progressed enough to help us properly study fairies.

6. Across Cultures, Across the Globe

Fairies, or fairy-like creatures, appear in most cultures' stories, and therefore there must be a hint of truth to them.

7. They Definitely Exist in the World of Literature

Many famous authors have spoken about fairies in their works.

The earliest forms of fairies can be found in Greek mythology, including Ash Tree Nymphs and the Sylvans, which are wild and volatile fairies.

I personally would love to believe in fairies. The fact that a cute, tiny person could be able to float around and perform magic is astounding. For now, I just simply doubt it, but I have an open mind.

Also, if you didn't see the awesome '90s film, FairyTale: A True Story, when you were a kid, you should now!
