Lets get straight into this

#5 - Mr Blonde – Reservoir Dogs (1992)

stuck in the middle with you
stuck in the middle with you

We first see Mr Blonde sitting in a diner talking with his fellow soon to be bank robbers. It turns out Mr Blonde is a psycho and shot several civilians – way out of the heist’s remit. He has also kidnapped a policeman whom he proceeds to torture and cut off the guy’s ear all to the cheery tune ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’. Mr Blonde executes this extreme act of torture with a little jig. He finally throws petrol all over the policeman and goes to set fire to him but a half dead Mr Orange shoots him down.

#4 - Annie Wilkes – Misery (1990)

Annie Wilkes is a vicious, spiteful deeply disturbed psycho killer. She displays various signs of extreme mental and emotional neuroses and psychosis. She suffers from periodic depression and harms herself. Wilkes is paranoid and obsessive. She abhors swearing but will fly into a rage if she is even slightly aggrieved. Wilkes most likely has Bipolar Disorder, a severe Personality Disorder and is fond of sadomasochism. This is according to forensic psychiatrists who have analysed the film. She is also a classic case of psycho stalker.

#3 - Anton Chigurh – No Country For Old Men (2007)

hos face, i can't XD
hos face, i can't XD

Chigurh is the epitome of a psychopath. His stupid bowl hairdo makes him even scarier. He is a hired assassin with a cold heart and blatant disregard for human life – indeed, he tosses a coin to decide whether to kill or not. But he has his own set of twisted morals – never random killing or killing without a ‘motive’. He sees himself as a card dealer, dispensing justice to those who are accountable. Chigurh nearly kills everyone he comes across in the film. And escapes scot free. The Coen brothers see Chigurh as a kind of modern day Death as featured in Ingmar Bergman’s Seventh Seal. Actor Javier Bardem was awarded an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA such was the might of his portrayal of the psycho Anton Chigurh.

#2 - Jack Torrance – The Shining (1980)

HEEEERES JOHNY
HEEEERES JOHNY

Jack Torrance is a teacher and writer whose volatile temper and alcoholism made him lose his job at a prep school. He retreats to the Coloradan hotel The Overlook to get away from the booze and to write a play. He is accompanied by his wife and young son. They are to look after the hotel for the duration of the winter and a snow in.

#1 - Hannibal Lecter - Hannibal Lecter Franchise (1986 - Present)

Hannibal Lecter is a true dyed in the wool psycho. He doesn’t give a damn about people. They are either there to kill and eat or else play head games with. He is also very vicious and might take a chunk out of your face if you get too close to him (this is why he sports a mask and is trussed up like a turkey in the films). His awesome intelligence and cunning are part of what makes him so psycho. Getting one over on Lecter is a hard, hard hurdle to jump and that’s what makes him the greatest screen psycho.
