HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jennifer Garner!

Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday.

Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas on April 17th 1972.

Originally enrolled as a chemistry major at Denison University, Garner changed her major to drama when she discovered that her love of the stage was bigger than that of science.

After spending some time on the stage, Jennifer Garner's first television role was in Zoya, a made-for-television movie based on a Danielle Steel novel but it wasn't until 2000 that she made her big screen debut in Dude, Where's My Car?

Garner has gone onto star in plenty of movies including Pearl Harbour, Catch Me If You Can, Daredevil and the spin-off, Elektra, Catch and Release, The Kingdom, Juno, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Invention of Lying, Valentine's Day, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Dallas Buyers Club, Draft Day, Men, Women & Children and most recently, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Aside from a big screen career, Garner is no stranger to television starring in Spin City, The Pretender, Time of Your Life, and Felicity.

Aside from a career on the stage, big and small screen, Jennifer Garner has opened her own production company, Vandalia Films, which produced her 2012 film, Butter. Garner is also an ambassador for Neutrogena and is an advocate of early childhood education with Save The Children, Democratic politics and an Anti-paparazzi campaign to protect kids from the paparazzi.

Jennifer Garner is married to her Pearl Harbour and Daredevil co-star, Ben Affleck.

While filming Daredevil, Garner became tangled in the stunt wires and was about to crash into a wall before Ben Affleck, in his Daredevil costume, rushed in and pulled her away before she crashed into the wall.

"It was like he was Superman."

said Garner about the incident.

Aside from her work, the thing I love most about Jennifer Garner is her personality. She seems really switched on and down to earth from the interviews and clips I've seen. Watching the Alias bloopers were awesome, to watch such a serious show and then to see Garner laughing and messing up was the highlight of buying the series on DVD for me.

Now here are my Top 2 Jennifer Garner roles (if you hadn't guessed by the titles omitted from the above lists!).

13 GOING ON 30 / SUDDENLY 30 (2004)

I really like this film. It's funny, has heart and a range of emotions throughout the film. It's just a light, easy going movie to put on and enjoy.

Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo are adorable and have awesome chemistry together in this film.

ALIAS (2001-2006)

This is one of my favourite TV shows and most of that is due to Garner! I love all the disguises, the different places and the story.

I loved most of the characters, mostly just the Bristows, especially the relationship between Sydney and Jack Bristow, which is translated from the relationship between Garner and Victor Garber.

For her role as Sydney Bristow, Garner won herself a Golden Globe in 2002 for Best Actress in a Television Series and a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2005 for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series as well as countless nominations.
