Captain America Civil War is set to come out next year and the closer we are to its release the more we are starting to know. The movie is what many Marvel fans have been wanting while other still hate the fact its coming. I however find myself sided with the people welcoming this movie as it is the logical step for the MCU. All of that aside it seems there might be some details that emerged that let us know more of whats to come. According to Joblo the characters we will be seeing in Civil War are as follows
Pretty much every Avengers character that DOESN'T have their own franchise is going to appear in CIVIL WAR. Some we already know about, including Cap (obviously), Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. We can also confirm the recently rumored Scarlet Witch, as well as The Vision, War Machine, and even Ant-Man. The non-hero villains are, as already confirmed, Baron Zemo and Crossbones.
I know what you're thinking right now wait where is Spider-Man?! Im getting to that as they also elaborated on the web slinger himself. First though i'd like to also point out the apparent team ups that will be unfolding. This is the most interesting aspect of the whole Civil War to me and although its not confirmed it seems likely.
In terms of who's facing off with who: So far it looks like Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Falcon vs. Iron Man, War Machine, The Vision, and Ant-Man, with the Scarlet Witch and Black Panther somewhere in the mix
The team ups seem to be pretty close to what i imagined i mean we did see Captain,Black Widow, and Falcon pretty much bond in Winter Soldier. Hawkeye of course has history with Black Widow as well so no surprise there. Then you have Iron Man and War Machine who are pretty much buddies since the MCU started. Vision is said to be created by Banner and Stark so of course he would follow Tony. Also you have Ant-Man which im sure has a deeper connection to Tony in the Ant Man movie more specifically Hank Pym. Spider-Man is said to be in the movie as we already his role however is still pretty secretive so we most likely wont know till much later. The site also goes on to say that Black Panther wont be taking Spidey's role from the comic but in fact have his own agenda of sorts.
As for Spider-Man; Marvel is playing it close to the chest, so there's no info on how he's involved...yet
We all know that Chadwick Boseman will appear in CIVIL WAR, but his role in the war isn't one-sided as he'll have his own agenda in the film. There's been speculation that he'd take the Spider-Man role as it plays out in the comics, but that doesn't look to be the case. Either way, his involvement will still be significant
We did however find out some details on Falcon's, Captain America, Winter Soldier, and Crossbones new costumes we will be seeing. They sound absolutely perfect in my opinion and just what i want to see.
The Falcon will, in fact, be getting a costume upgrade for CIVIL WAR, which will be a modified version of his WINTER SOLDIER suit, but with grey and red colors, as per his comic origins. Captain America will be carrying over a slightly modified version of his AGE OF ULTRON suit, and so far The Winter Soldier will look very much as he did before, long hair and all. The coolest costume news is for Crossbones. Many of us are dying to see ol' Brock Rumlow in his trademark get-up and that will indeed happen. He's described as "messier" and the skull imagery on the suit is described as "graffiti-esque." And yes, he does indeed wear the skull mask that covers his entire face, which is said to be a hybrid mask/helmet. Think Army of Two
The biggest and most important part of the report in my opinion is why the Superhero Registration goes into effect. That originally came in the comics from a group of heroes filming a reality show. They set out to find and take down some supervillains which due to their carelessness resulted in the death of 600 civillains. The reason is changed for the film and is the cause of Crossbones in what im assuming is a set up.
In Mark Millar's Civil War story the catalyst that sets off the "Civil War" is when the New Warriors destroy several city blocks in an attempt to apprehend a supervillain, causing the deaths of more than 600 civilians, prompting the Superhero Registration Act, which requires all superpowered beings to register with the government, reveal their secret identities, and receive "proper" training and operate under the employ of S.H.I.E.L.D. Obviously, this has to be changed for the MCU version, and this is the basic premise; Instead of the New Warriors being the catalyst for the Superhero Registration Act, it will be Crossbones (in costume) who will be the catalyst that kicks off the film, instigating an attack that causes much death and destruction, causing the government to step in and put out the Superhero Registration Act.
I personally like this change to the story as it makes sense for the version of Civil War where we dont have many heroes. The other thing we have to focus on is this really doesnt start the internal war for our heroes but just begins the spark. Theres one final piece of the plot being reported that does in fact ignite the full on war and thats on man......
The other element that will be a key focus is The Winter Soldier, whose existence is the big question as he has the ability to be a hero, but has also been a villain. This causes the main rift between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, as the disagreement leads them to opposing sides
I personally love all these details whether they are real or not it is yet to be confirmed. However much of it seems to make sense in my opinion for this Civil War. I can clearly see the debate between Stark and Rogers over the fate of The Winter Soldier as we see Cap was clearly conflicted over it as well. We are one year away and I just want a tease already! What do you think of these rumors?
