Daredevil has burst onto the scene and has immediately become one of the best shows that's out there today. Nobody expected this show to be as good as it is, it really took everyone by surprise. Charlie Cox was the perfect fit to play Matt Murdock. He was able to show the real human side of being a vigilante and how it effects you emotionally. Vincent D'Onofrio is really what put the show over the top, Gomer Pyle actor turned Kingpin did an outstanding job, the way he captured your emotions and really connected with you as a character. With all that being said, after binge watching the entire first season one can not help but wonder where the story goes from here. The season ended with bit of a mystery that left us hanging and i am excited for the possibilities that lay ahead.

How will Kingpin be connected to the story

Vincent D'Onofrio is Kingpin
Vincent D'Onofrio is Kingpin

Kingpin was great, Vincent D'Onofrio played the role to absolute perfection. Throughout the series he finds a love named Vanessa, you learn about his history, including the abuse by his father which ultimately let for Fisk murdering him. All of his actions eventually lead to him being captured and put in jail by Daredevil in the finale. This leads to many questions as to how the story will continue. Possibly, Wilson Fisk runs his empire from the solitude of his prison cell. I believe being locked in a cell will give us the true Kingpin. He still has a great disdain for one Daredevil, he wants his head, obviously he can not kill him from jail, but he may hire someone else to do it. I recently read a Movie Pilot article by fellow creator Kerry Cepero, in this article he floated around the idea that a person Fisk may hire to take out Daredevil would be Bullseye. If you haven't read the article i very much recommend it. Here is a quote from the article

"Enter the "Anti-Christ" in the Devils life....BULLSEYE. A homicidal maniac with an almost superhuman ability as an expert marksman. BULLSEYE is a man no one takes lightly in the Marvel Universe"

Could we possibly see an introduction to The Punisher?

With multiple reports confirming that a Punisher series is in the works as a Netflix Original, I believe there is a chance that we see Punisher as Daredevils adversary. Punisher started as a villain in the Amazing Spider-Man, sent to kill Spider-Man. Daredevil and Punisher have had confrontations in the past. Punisher has no regard for human life, he is basically Daredevil without that moral fiber to not take someones life. This never sat quite well with Daredevil and so confrontation started. Daredevil does not appreciate the fact Punisher serves as the judge, jury, and in most cases executioner. I believe the introduction of Punisher would be very fun to watch, but it may be a bit of a stretch due to the fact he may be getting his own series.

Will Karens "Issues" begin to surface?

Karen Page is one of the most controversial characters to ever be in comics. She became strung out on heroin and begins making pornographic movies to keep up with her drug habit, and unfortunately Karen is falsely diagnosed with hiv/aids by sharing needles and is eventually killed during a fight between Daredevil and Bullseye. This is one of the most talked about things in comics, Aids was a very taboo subject at the time and it really brought a sense of realism to the comic. They made reference to this multiple times in the comics. It begins with Ben Urich telling Karen that he did research and found out about her shady past. Also she began to drink quite heavily towards the end of the season. When Foggy calls her out on why she was drunk at work, she says she thought about trying the "Hard Stuff", referencing using hard drugs. So it would be of no surprise to me to see Karen Page going down that road, as the show is meant for a very mature audience.

Will they merge the television and cinematic universes?

Marvel did not shy away from making it known that the events that occurred in The Avengers, happened in the Daredevil universe. They consistently make references to members of the Avengers, a guy with a hammer, iron suit, etc. So that being said, one begins to wonder whether or not we will see anyone from the cinematic universe in the series. Black Widow is an obvious answer, she was Daredevils love interest in the comics at one point. But I don't think she will be introduced quite yet. Possibly Samuel L. Jackson could make an appearance, much like he did on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It would be very interesting to see how the would mix in the cinematic universe with this show, the results could be outstanding.

Daredevil has endless story line opportunities.

There are an endless amount of story line options that they could go and explore. I'm very excited to see what the next season has in store for us. What kind of characters will be introduced, how Wilson Fisk's incarceration will affect the lives of everyone going forward. I'm not sure there are anything that they could do that could make this show horrible, the tone that they have set is just absolutely perfect. The sense of realism that this show bring really gives you a sense of the true life of a vigilante. This show really came out of nowhere, expectations were modest at best. Marvel continues to prove everyone wrong with project after project that is just excellent. We truly have a brand new heavy weight in the world of television, his name is Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil.
