Hi! I don't know if these details of our most anticipated film have been released yet or not so I will just get on with it. Beware there could be potential spoilers here. You have been warned.
Why are Batman and Superman embroiled in a fight? Well, Eisenberg may have more than a little something to do with it. Director Zack Snyder‘s mega movie doesn’t open for another solid year but Badass Digest details how this film differs from The Dark Knight Returns (which has Superman working for the government and gives Batman the advantage over him):
In Batman v Superman Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world’s governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation… at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor’s bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, “He started it!”
That “he started it” business could make things exceptionally hard on Superman considering the fact that his last big brawl in Metropolis involved a considerable amount of collateral damage. While I wasn’t a huge fan of Man of Steel, I have to wonder if this movie is a narrative course correction (if not an aesthetic one).
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016 and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy and Jeremy Irons, Jesse Issenberg
