After watching the Batman v Superman trailer, IGN did a rewind of it. One of the big points that they made was Superman is always placed over people. Now that could just be a coincidence, but then why do these soldiers have Superman's emblem on their shoulders?

The world can only be controlled by fear...

This takes away some of the Dark Knight Returns element of Superman being a pawn for the government. Now by the looks of it, Supes wants to take matters into his own hands and be the one thing we never see Superman do in a film - be a god over the people. I want you all to know that this is just speculation and not to be taken literally for the DC Cinematic Universe. Think about it; Superman killed Zod and he probably believes that he is alone...

There's also a rumor going around that Aquaman and Wonder Woman are both Kryptonians, which means that if the rumor is true, they would have to convince Superman somehow. Now, in the trailer, we see people going against Superman which could ultimately crack him, and he unleashed all of his might on the people of the world. Let's take a real world part of this movie and think about it: religion. Religion is a big part to many people in this world and with Supes around... it looks like religion is going to be questionable.

Is this a monk reaching out to Superman?

Let us not forget that when it comes to democracy and dictatorship there is always a rebellion. Who better to lead said rebellion than Batman? He can go head-first against Superman, and we'll have our answer once and for all on who would win. Going back to those against the Man of Steel, these people are devastated with the loss of their families and destruction of their homes from Superman's first outing in Man of Steel. People will be scared of Superman, and Supes needs to find a way to get the people to see him not as a god but as a protector.

What about Luthor, though? Every hero needs a villain, right? Well, I predict that Lex Luthor is running for office. In order to win Metropolis over, he will go against Superman's ways and make him kneel before him. People will do anything in politics, and it looks like this could be it. Like way back when there were rumors about Doomsday. This could work because if Superman takes over, Luthor would make it look like he's a hero by claiming to have the ultimate weapon built from Kryptonian blood (belonging to Zod). There can be no doubt that the people do hate Superman, and this picture from the trailer proves it.

Superman sees first hand that people are rioting against him, so he goes out and does a number to the city Man of Steel style. Remember when people would go around and say Pa Kent would never be that big of a douche, but he may have been on to something. Because people see Superman as more than a hero, he is a weapon of mass destruction. Superman can't be taken lightly by some military, so who are you gonna call? ...The Justice League!

They are able to stand a chance against the Man of Steel. Since Suicide Squad is coming out after BvS, it's time to play around with things. Amanda Waller assigns Task Force X to seek out a large scale prison and break them in to find weapons against Superman. However Harley is quickly distracted, hearing the Joker say her name over and over again. He tells her to set her free, and chaos arises. Anyway... I've gone off track...

I believe that Superman will take over the villain role in 'Justice League Part 1' leading up to Darkseid.
