After the season finale of [The Walking Dead](series:201193) there have been a number of questions unanswered. I would like to primarily focus on the big “W’s” found on the foreheads of the new enemies. There have been rumors that the “W” stands for “Wolves”, as it is hinted in one of the episodes where there is a sign that reads “Wolves Not Far”.
But what if that is all a facade? Meaning that the sign was literally a warning of real wolves in the wild. I know that you’re thinking, but that still doesn’t explain the “W”. Rest assured, I have a theory that will blow your mind! In the TV show, we first see the “W” on walkers that have been either re-killed or mutilated by having their limbs cut off.
Close to the end of the season we finally see living people with the “W” freshly marked on their foreheads. Morgan’s first encounter with them started out friendly but later turned hostile. It was hinted that the reasoning behind the “W” was due to a type of ritual... a rite of passage if you will… to be accepted to some kind of society. What if that society is called the Whisperers? If you haven’t read [The Walking Dead](series:201193) comics, spoiler alert ahead, but I strongly suggest that you read them!
The Whispers are a group of people who disguise themselves as walkers by wearing their skin so that they can walk among them. Pretty smart if you ask me!
What do you think? did we just get a glimpse of the Whispers?
