Sam and Dean are amazing characters. Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padalecki (Sam) do an awesome job at portraying these two brothers. And though the story revolves around the two of them, there are still tons of other characters.
Throughout the years we've gone through everything with the Winchesters. Yellow-eyed demon, Azazel; Lucifer; the apocalypse; Lilith; Leviathon. And through all that drama, I know I met more than a few characters I fell in love with. Some of which weren't always the good guys. But, hey. You can't help who you love. And the cast of Supernatural do their jobs so well, they make it too easy to love them.
So here are some of my favorite Supernatural characters, aside from Sam and Dean.
Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino):
Is it weird that I'm totally in love with Lucifer? Ehh, maybe. But Mark Pellegrino just makes it too easy. Lucifer's sarcastic attitude is hilarious and the way Mark portrays him is just amazing. You see that Lucifer isn't simply evil, he was once an angel, after all.
And even though Lucifer wants to rid the earth of mankind, I still don't really think of him as a "bad guy," per se. He was a child of God (as are the humans, technically), the second son, an Archangel. And he loved God more than anything. So when God created man and said that Lucifer had to love them more than God himself, Lucifer rebelled. He didn't want to love anything or anyone more than his father. And for that, he was cast out of Heaven.
I think the fact that he was rejected, that God chose the "hairless apes" over him, really got to him. So he was still doing what he thought of as right. But that's just my opinion.
Gabriel (Richard Speight Jr.):
Gabriel, otherwise known as Loki or the Trickster, is a hilarious character. Usually, you can find him playing with Sam and Dean's minds or just being...well, a trickster.
But on more than one occasion, he helps the Winchesters. Gabriel isn't usually one to talk about his feelings or be all emotional, but he's said that he hated seeing his family at each other's throats, which is the reason he left Heaven.
Balthazar (Sebastian Roché):
I just adore Sebastian Roché. He's an amazing actor and he's adorable.
Balthazar is also hilarious. Now that I'm doing this, I'm finding that when Castiel said, "It's funnier in Enochian," that wasn't always true. All these angels are just funny as crap.
Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day):
Everyone loves Charlie. I don't care who you are. If you don't love Charlie...may you get the Croatoan virus. Not really.
She's geeky, funny, and freaking smart. She's Charlie Bradbury, bitches!
Death (Julian Richings):
One thing I love about Death is his taste for fast food. Plus, that badass entrance. I mean, aside from Castiel's, his is definitely my favorite. Plus plus, Death is just a badass in general.
Chuck Shurley/God (Rob Benedict):
When I first realized Chuck Shurley--adorable, awkward little Chuck Shurley--was God, it was like some great big revelation. How long did it take me to figure it out? A little too long. I'm usually quite good at figuring things out when it comes to shows, but nooo....Did not realize that for a while...
Anyway, I adore Chuck...God...Chuck. Sure, he may not be the most helpful person...deity...but he's Chuck and I love him.
Abaddon (Alaina Huffman):
An example of a strong female character. Sure, she's not exactly a "good guy," but hey, she's hot. And snarky.
Kevin Tran (Osric Chau):
Oh, little Kevin Tran. Easy to love, so hard...to...lose...
I can't talk about Kevin...
Meg (Rachel Miner):
I'll admit that I didn't much like Meg at first, but like a lot of characters tend to do, she grew on me. By the time she died, I was so freaking upset.
Her attraction to Castiel was the greatest thing, too. Or should I say Clarence..?
So who's your favorite Supernatural character? You know, besides Sam, Dean, Cas and Crowley.
