Dominic Cooper, a.k.a. Howard Stark from the early-era MCU movies, is set to play Jesse Custer in AMC's adaptation of DC's gritty Western-infused comic book series, Preacher.
Seth Rogan, who's producing the show with friend and longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg, officially confirmed the casting announcement over Twitter:
And here is the savior of our souls himself, side-by-side with his illustrated counterpart!
Jesse Custer / Dominic Cooper
Custer is a small-town minister who finds himself intertwined with a mysterious and powerful force named Genesis, thereby granting him the ability to wield his manipulative control over others.
For a full synopsis look below:
Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the three embark on a journey to literally find God.
Lucy Griffiths will play single mother Emily, and Ian Coletti will take the rather unfortunately named role of Arseface.
Preacher is expected to release sometime next year.
