If you haven't seen the [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](movie:711158) trailer yet, what are you doing? Get on that ASAP. Here it is just for those of you who've been living under a rock and/or in the barren wastelands of the Mojave Desert or something...
Everybody and their mom has tried dissecting this trailer. Here's a little something that might shed a little bit of light on a potential Darth Vader cameo. I know it seems farfetched, but give it a chance.
Mark Hamill, a.k.a. Luke Skywalker, does the voiceover here. In which, he says the following:
"The force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power, too."
Mark Hamill was quoted recently saying that he kept messing up his lines when he was recording this. Apparently, in an interview with the Associated Press, Hamill said he kept fibbing the lines, saying "My father had it."
Of course, Luke Skywalker's father is none other than the thought-to-be dead Darth Vader. Since they kept it as present tense, does this mean there's an opening for a Vader reappearance or cameo?
So, how or why would they bring him back?
- 1. He could come back as a Force Ghost, which would mean there is a chance he could return AND interact with the environment loosely
- 2. There is the small chance that he could have been cloned at some point, which would be easy and obviously this franchise is big on clones
- 3. Remember that THIS photo was taken on set a few months back
- 4. Of course, also, it's kind of a cop-out but he could return in flashbacks
What do you think?
