Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast had one piece of the puzzle missing and, as of today, it's finally complete. We have been speculating on who will be cast as Lumière, the kindhearted, charismatic, yet slightly rebellious candlestick who eventually becomes one of Belle's closest friends.
So guess which famously talented actor will grace us with his presence as this charming candle-man full of light?
EWAN MCGREGOR, that's who!
I know. I can't wait to hear him grandly sing "Be Our Guest" while teacups and dusters dance to perfectly timed choreography around him.
And can we mention how amazing the chemistry between Sir Ian McKellen and McGregor will be? They're going to be smashing as the hilarious duo, Lumière and Cogsworth.
McGregor is most famous for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars films, but has appeared in such brilliant films as Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, and Big Fish, just to name a few.
Acting beside McGregor will be Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens will be The Beast, Luke Evans will act as Gaston, Audra McDonald plays the Wardrobe, Josh Gad plays LeFou, Emma Thompson will be Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline appears as Maurice, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will be Lumière’s lady, Plumette.
Now we are all going to have to deal with our extreme feels of excitement for another two years, as Beauty and the Beast is not set to be released until March 2017. But judging by this talented crew of actors, it will most definitely be worth the wait.
Let's just sing along and enjoy this clip below in the meantime:
I suppose this will just have to do for now.
