It has been rumored for a few weeks that the duo behind The Lego Movie were being courted by Warner Bros. to direct the upcoming solo movie based around The Flash. While that rumor is still just a rumor, we have learned that the pair are in fact developing a treatment for the film.

The film version will remain separate from the breakout hit spin-off currently airing on the CW Network and will star Ezra Miller in the lead role of the Scarlet Speedster.

A character whose origins began in the pages of DC Comics 75 years ago, The Flash is a superhero whose super speed allows him to seemingly break the speed of light and time travel. He has also been a founding, and long standing, member of the Justice League of America.

Again, whether Phil Lord and Christopher Miller end up directing the upcoming superhero flick has yet to be seen. The pair are currently involved with The Lego Movie Sequel and the upcoming spin-off, The Lego Batman Movie.
