My was of Uncanny X-Men #300. I had no clue who these characters were, what they did, or even gave a damn why... it was shiny! Uncanny X-Men #300 had this glossy embossed cover that shined in different lights. What can I say? The gays? We love some shiny shimmer!

Okay, focus. The love of a shiny object took me on a path where, Spice Girls aside, I learned more about myself than I ever imagined I could. I had no idea what was going on throughout the narrative. Basically, from what I could infer, these different groups of people, mutants they were called (and why the hell did they just not take over period and run the world the way they saw fit... I mean, what did we ever do for them to stick around and help us?) went out of their way to protect the very same people that threatened them. Doing good for others.. noble and respected.
