(WARNING: "There may be spoilers ahead." Imagine that line in Fred Astaire's voice and be suitably warned that you may not want to ruin any part of this summer's main event, because this article is dripping with spoils.)
Despite Avengers: Age of Ultron not opening for another damn week in the US, a Celestial sized spoiler has thwomped its way onto the web, which should come as no great surprise to anyone nowadays.
AoU's actual mid-credits scene has been recorded and uploaded by a brave and quick fingered Instagrammer, showing Thanos, better known as "The Chin That Sits In Space," has decided to vacate his floating throne and finally get his intimidatingly sized hands sullied with the hopes and dreams of the heroes of the MCU.
Can't blame him for growing tired of the lackluster displays from his trusted henchmen and women, Loki, Gamora, Nebula and Ronan the Accuser's failures must have been rather tiresome to watch. But not for us!
The clip starts off with the opening of an elaborate safe containing the future Infinity Gauntlet. "Fine," bellows Thanos as he slides his left hand into the golden mitt of destruction and comes into frame. "I'll do it myself." The clip ends with its score hitting a tense and stirringly theatrical crescendo, before it cuts to black.
Here it is if you want to have a look. You know you do...:
As uploader mathijsvann states himself, the leak does teeter on a bit of a tightrope. Yes, it is a spoiler but we're all well aware that the two part Infinity War saga is on its way, and with it will come monumental changes to the MCU we've come to cherish so dearly.
Has this managed to slightly raise your spirits after the monumental joy slayer that was the fake Spider-Man mid-credit scene? To be honest, the Spidey clip is way better than the legit clip, mainly because it's humorous and would've been such a cheeky entrance for everybody's favorite web-slinger.
But, hey, not too long till Civil War...
