There was sad news for dog lovers today when Paris Hilton took to social media to announce that her beloved chihuahua Tinkerbell had passed away at age 14.
Tinkerbell rose to fame after appearing on the 2003 reality TV show The Simple Life alongside Hilton and Nicole Richie, and in 2004 even had her own memoir titled 'The Tinkerbell Hilton Diaries: My life Tailing Paris Hilton.' Paris took to Instagram to let fans know of her pooch's passing, saying:
"My heart is broken I am so sad & devastated. After 14 amazing years together my baby Tinkerbell has passed away of old age. I feel like I’ve lost a member of my family. She was such a special & incredible soul. We went through so much together,’ she continued. ‘I can’t believe she’s gone. I will miss her & think about her for the rest of my life. I love you Tinky, you are a Legend & will never be forgotten. #RIPTinkerbell."
The socialite and media personality then dedicated her Instagram feed to Tinkerbell, posting photos and videos of her with the small chihuahua in happier times.
Tinkerbell had a pretty big career for such a small dog, helping Hilton to host [Saturday Night Live](series:788145) and appearing in ad campaigns alongside her owner for brands such as Guess.
Despite Tinkerbell's passing, I think reaching the ripe age of 14-years-old is a pretty impressive feat for such a small dog, especially one belonging to the hard partying socialite Paris Hilton! Fortunately for Paris, she has many other pets to help her through this difficult time, with some reports saying Tinkerbell had up to 17 canine brothers and sisters!
