With Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming to a close there have been many records set, many tears of joy and so many moments of admiration for our heroes on screen.

Kevin Feige brought these characters to life on the big screen in such a great and innovative way, what he and the rest of Marvel Studios did for the Superhero genre will shape comic book movies for so many years to come.

Now everyone loves an easter egg right? Well Kevin Feige actually just revealed one of the biggest easter eggs ever and we didn't even know it! He's made a cool nod to the Star Wars saga which is another property owned by Disney, who also owns Marvel.

So is this a spoiler for Ant-Man… not really. I’m obsessed with Star Wars. Who’s not? I’m 40 years old. I’m in the movie business. I went to USC. So I’m obsessed with Star Wars – and it didn’t start out as intentional, but it became intentional, including that beat that you referenced. It sort of happens in every Star Wars movie, but I was sort of looking at it, ‘Okay, is Phase Two our Empire Strikes Back?’ Not really, but tonally things are a little different. Somebody gets their arm cut off in every Phase Two movie. Every single one.

Awesome right?! It's not necessarily main characters, because that's what I did at first and was like, when the hell did Tony Stark have his arm cut off?

Now I'm gonna be a nice guy and actually tell you where all of these moments are because, well, you give me a good excuse and I'll use that.

  • Iron Man 3: Iron Man cuts off Aldrich Killian’s arm during the end fight scene.
  • Thor: The Dark World: Loki appears to cut off Thor’s hand in an illusion.
  • [Captain America: The Winter Soldier](tag:254973): Bucky is revealed to have lost his arm during his fall off the train.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Gamora chops off Groot’s arms the first time they meet.
  • [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035): I will update you on this tomorrow!
  • Ant-Man: Errrrr, no one knows yet xD

Kevin Feige was actually made aware to this coincidence last year and said

“[T]his sort of happened by coincidence, but now I sort of want it to be a thing,”

It's clear that his wishes for this have actually become true, you go Marvel!

Excuse me for poor quality for Iron Man and Thor, tried my best 4 u guys ;-; Enjoy! (Just without the Groot Clip) :(

Poor Grooty:(
Poor Grooty:(

Hope you enjoyed the article, I enjoyed writing this one :3

And if you're seeing or seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron over the next couple days, I hope you have an awesome time! It's gonna be an AWESOME MOVIE.

You think what Kevin Feige did, was cool?
