Ready for another sci-fi horror movie? The Australian sci-fi movie Infini has not been receiving that much press lately but based on the trailer it could be a surprise for those who haven't had a chance to view it.The film was released on May 8th( at least that was the release date indicated) in the US but it doesn't seem to be the talk of the town right now.The director, Shane Abbess has tried to make a return to the sci-fi genre after taking a break to re-collect his thoughts and relax a bit.

Here is the official film synopsis:

In the early 23rd century, the Earth's highest paying jobs are on deep space mining colonies. On mining station O.I. an alien force is taking over the station's inhabitants, and the crew of the Infini are dispatched to rescue them.

The film has already gotten some buzz based on the trailer and some have even tried to compare to other cult hit sci-fi films like pandorum, prometheus, deadspace, and alien. The comparison could be a good thing as long as it helps garner attention for the film which it definitely needs.

Some fans still crave what they call Intelligent Sci-fi films and look for this where ever they can and when ever they can.Infini might offer some form of science and explanation but it mainly falls under the spectrum of horror with a twist of Sci-fi thrown in for good measure. Fans can most likely expect something similar to prometheus in terms of tone and aesthetic. The production values of the film are also surprisingly very good considering its budget that it has. It's not clear which theaters are showing this movie but have fun trying to figure that out.
