After searching far and wide for a screenwriter to tackle Fifty Shades Darker, E.L. James has finally decided that her own husband is the best man for the job.
Luckily for Fifty Shades fanatics, James' husband, Niall Leonard, hasn't been selected on the merits of nepotism alone - he also happens to be a successful Irish screenwriter.
Any Brits among us might remember Leonard's name from shows such as Wild at Heart and Wire in the Blood that he penned, but he is still pretty much an unknown in the US.
E.L. James earned herself a reputation for being an incredibly difficult person to work with when both Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter, Kelly Marcel, and director, Sam Taylor Wood declined to return for the much-anticipated sequel. It is said that Marcel left because E.L. James wanted more influence on the script, so here's hoping that Niall is used to being the sub in their relationship!
Despite the shakeup with screenwriters and directors, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are still all set to reprise their roles and it's rumored that production will start in the first quarter of 2016.
Do you think Niall Leonard can pen something as sexy as the first one?
