In 2007 a lot of things were going on, the first generation iPhone was released, Shrek the Third and Spider-Man 3 hit theaters, and the first episode of The Big Bang Theory aired. But back when Internet virality was an untamed beast and Youtube was just a young hub for video sharing, there was something that went even bigger, by accident.

As long as you haven't been living under a rock for the last eight years, I'm sure you remember this pair:

Well prepare to feel really old in a second, because over 815 million views later this is what Charlie and his big brother Harry look like today:

Harry - 11-years-old

Charlie - 9-years-old

What is considered the most viral Youtube video ever (excluding music videos), launched came to be after their dad uploaded "Charlie Bit My Finger - Again!" so that the boys' godfather could watch it from overseas - as it was too large to fit in an email. Remember back when Youtube was so innocent?

To see more of the boys and their thoughts on their Internet fame, check out CBBC's brief interview with Harry and Charlie:

Since becoming Internet sensations, sounds like the boys have been living relatively normal lives, save for the occasional advertisement like this Ragú commercial from 2012:

The video sensation has been parodied time and time again, but Jimmy Kimmel took the cake in March of last year with the sketch "Bitman Begins" starring A-listers Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Chris Hemsworth, and Liam Hemsworth.
