Well, it sounds like Justin Lin's upcoming Star Trek movie finally has a title. According to our friends over at TrekMovie.com, Star Trek Beyond is being used for the title of the new film. In addition, they report that he name has been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America.
Now, given Bad Robot’s history of secrecy, there is a good chance this could very well be a decoy name generated in an effort to create some buzz amongst media and fans. However, given what co-writer, and series actor, Simon Pegg has been saying of late, chances are good this could very well be the film's official title.
Over the past little while, Pegg has expressed an interest in seeing the new Star Trek franchise return to its classic exploration roots and has mentioned that they are hoping to take the story back to one involving frontierism and adventure and optimism and fun...where no man has gone before.
Sounds good to us, and countless fans have been echoing Simon Pegg's words hoping to see the rebooted series return to the roots of the classic TV show.
More news as it becomes available.
