The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film that came out last year was such a fun movie for me. Was it the best movie? Not by a long shot. Was it a good movie? Many would say "no". But nevertheless, I just loved the first movie, despite its cliche plot and Michael Bay-isms.

Despite being a poorly received film critically speaking, I was still excited to hear that the film did well enough to earn a sequel announcement for a 2016 release date.

So since then, I've tried to keep up with the news and it would seem that the news is definitely going to be coming in in waves since the film is due to start filming soon.

We already know that Stephen Amell (Arrow) will be joining the cast as Casey Jones. This is an awesome development for me since I have an enormous amount of respect and appreciation for Stephen Amell.

Then we received confirmation that Bebop and Rocksteady would officially be joining the film to cause trouble for our Heroes in a Half-Shell.

This was obviously suspected already since the original draft the first film in 2014 had Bebop and Rocksteady in the script until they were removed for fear of overcrowding the film. This went on long enough to even allow for concept art to be made for them (shown above) which can now serve as an idea of just how the mutated rhino and warthog will look like. So it's a welcome addition in my opinion.

Well now it seems that another classic turtle-baddie is making their big-screen debut into the film:

Baxter Stockman

Baxter Stockman is a scientist who becomes obsessive of the mutagen's capabilities and even goes so far as to become a mutated form of a fly. While maintaining his intellect, Stockman becomes a truly horrific bad-guy and quite simply...disgusting.

He's also known for his extremely brilliant (if extremely dangerous) robotics as he is most popularly known for his invention (designed to kill the turltes) the "mousers". So, I say it's a fair bet, even if Stockman doesn't become the fly mutant, that we can at least expect the turtle-hunting robots to make an appearance.

So, who's playing Stockman? None other than mind behind Madea: Tyler Perry.

I have no complaints regarding this casting. I know that Tyler Perry has some good acting chops and I'm excited to see him take on the role in the Turtle sequel. What remains to be seen is if whether or not Stockman will become the horrific fly-mutant or if that'll be set up for a threequel film. Only time will tell.

So, are you guys excited about this movie? You like the characters they've got so far? How do you feel about Stockman being played by Tyler Perry in the movie? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
