Blake Lively is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's most underrated actresses, and one of my personal favorites. Earlier this week, Moviepilot gave me the opportunity to see her yet again in an early screening of The Age of Adaline. The film is gold, and once again, Blake shows off her versatility and turns in a fantastic performance. So, to give her the love she much deserves, here's a tribute to the one and only Blake Lively; her very best roles to date.
You know her as Serena in the hit TV Show Gossip Girl...
And you may have seen her play the lead female role in the Green Lantern film, alongside her (now) husband, Ryan Reynolds.
But Blake Lively has proved to deliver performances that go beyond the mysterious pretty girl from the Upper East Side or the superhero's love interest.
Her first lead role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants earned her a nomination for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Breakout – Female.
And her performance in the indie film Elvis and Anabelle was praised by MovieLine.com, which credited this as her "breakthrough role." She won an Achievement Award-Breakout Performance at the Newport Beach Film Festival for this one.
But her role in The Age of Adaline is her most challenging yet, and I think the 27-year old actress gives her most memorable performance to date. I definitely recommend you guys to check it out.
Also staring Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn, The Age of Adaline opens in theaters Friday, April 24th!
