Vin Diesel took to the stage at CinemaCon in Vegas today to announce that "[Fast & Furious 8](tag:1117455)" is happening - set for a April 14, 2017 release.
Considering the $1.158 billion "Furious 7" has earned at the box office, no surprise to hear that Universal (and Diesel, even if he had to wrestle with the decision - for personal reasons) want to push forward with the series.
Diesel recently suggested that "Furious 8" will be set in New York, and that Kurt Russell's Mr Nobody will have a pivotal role to play. It's also been said that Lucas Black, who made a cameo in "Furious 7", might be back to reprise Sean Boswell of "Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift".
No director set yet.
