Word around the campfire is Sony Pictures are putting the pieces together for a new adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic sci-fi novella The Invisible Man.
The original, published in 1897, follows a scientist named Griffin's descent into madness, after he discovers a way of turning invisible using optics. Sadly for him, the transformation is a one way deal. Using his new found abilities for harm, Griffin goes on a trail of crime and anarchy.
Sony's take on the iconic tale will have the Invisible Man as the villain, while being hunted by the yet unannounced hero.
Super producers Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick (Divergent franchise, The Great Gatsby) will oversee the development of the feature.
