Now, there have been a whole lot of Marvel-related rumors floating around over the past few weeks - but with the majority of them having to do with Avengers: Age of Ultron, we're finally able to tell whether or not a whole lot of them're actually true.

For some, though, we may well have to wait a while longer. Like, for instance, the latest murmurings to emerge from Bleeding Cool, which is now reporting that we're actually going to get a chance to see Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange a whole lot earlier than we might have expected.

What's more - that may well not actually be - as many of us had expected - within the confines of Captain America: Civil War. Instead...

It Seems Doctor Strange Will First Appear in...Iron Fist?

Yup, that's right - according to an apparently trusted source, Doctor Strange will be making an appearance in Netflix's Iron Fist, set to debut some time in 2016 (and presumably before Doctor Strange's November release that same year.

Though, there's no guarantee we'll actually see him, it seems:

"Whether he will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch as he is in the upcoming movie scheduled for next year, or will be shown in a way that doesn’t need such a high profile actor to be on set, I don’t know. But odds are that the Cumberbatch will at least do the voice."

All of which is, on one level, kind of a strange call - seeing as, no matter how successful the show proves to be, it's unlikely to have the same reach as a cameo in a Marvel movie would. The 3 key things to remember, though?

1. Doctor Strange Could Still Cameo in Captain America: Civil War

After all, a post-credits appearance there would solve the problem of reach (seeing as it's likely to have an insane number of audience-members) while allowing Iron Fist to more lengthily introduce the character.

2. Doctor Strange Is Actually a Good Fit for Iron Fist

Crucially, Doctor Strange and Iron Fist are likely to be two of the only heroes in the MCU whose back-stories are heavily tied to magic - or magical-seeming phenomena. Strange is a given with that, but the hints that came out of the recent Daredevil series seem to confirm - via Madame Gao - that Iron Fist's mystical origins in the city of K'un Lun are set to appear in the MCU as well...

And, of course:

3. Doctor Strange and Iron Fist Are Buds in the Comics

We've already seen Science Bros - could Magic Bros be next?

Here's hoping...

What do you think, though?
