Movies need their stars, or at least their up-and-coming stars, to be successful in this day and age. But the thing is, there's no stars without support from other more below-the-radar actors and actresses who are put in the films as well. Getting cast in a film and having lines is something a lot of young (and some old) actors aspire to.

Like in sports, there have to be those role players who know how to provide that much needed help - in this case in the form of dialogue or action - to supplement what the main characters are doing.

This is a list of many of 9 of those bit-players who passed too soon. I did not know that some of these people passed but I recognize them for sure. They helped make some of my favorite movies amazing and they deserve recognition for that.

1. Nicole DeHuff

You may remember Nicole from Meet The Parents. She played the sister who's wedding was ruined. Sadly, five years pneumonia took her life.

2. Wendy Jo Sperber

You probably know her as Marty McFly's sister from Back To The Future. She also had roles in Married... With Children, 8 Simple Rules, and Dinosaurs. She passed in 2005 after a battle with cancer.

3. Romi Koch

Romi Koch appeared in Dead Doll, and she had a promising career ahead of her. Sadly, she passed just one year later in 2005.

4. Zoe Lund

Ms. 45 was an underrated movie and Zoe Lund was an underrated actress. A proud proponent of heroin use, she passed in 1999.

5. Holly Lewis

She appeared in Pirates of Silicon Valley and Oscar. She was also a voice actor who did voices for the video game series Grand Theft Auto. She passed away in 2012.

6. Lynne Thigpen

If Lynne Thigpen seems recognizable, there's a reason. This role is from Streets on Fire. She also appeared in Lean on Me, Blankman, and Anger Management. She passed tragically of a cerebral hemorrhage on March 12, 2003 at the age of 54.

7. Alice Playten

She was the voice of Beebe Bluff on Doug. She also had roles in Heavy Metal and Legend. She died on June 25, 2011 at Sloan-Kettering Hospital in Manhattan from heart failure after a lifetime of juvenile diabetes, complicated by pancreatic cancer. She was 63 years old.

8. Richard Griffiths

British actor Richard Griffiths got famous by playing Uncle Vernon Dursley from Harry Potter. If you saw the movies, you know that he had an excellent portrayal of the bumbling jerk who was nothing but brutal to Harry his whole life. Harry of course probably wouldn't have become the great wizard we all know him to be if it weren't for this rough upbringing though. After heart surgery, on in 2013, Griffiths died of subsequent complications. He was 65 years old.

9. David Graf

David Graf, we knew as Tackleberry, the cop who was obsessed with guns from Police Academy. He was hilarious and on-point in the role. He passed a while ago, in 2001 from a heart attack.
