Critics tell you what's broken. Fans tell you what works. I'm a movie fan.

This new look for the Clown Prince of Crime is a lot of things and one of them is definitely... new. But all of the classic elements are there. There really aren't but a few differences... and what's more important is they make sense.

He looks like he has spent most of his life in prison. Now i have never spent any time in the slammer, and I don't know anyone who has spent much time there either. So all I have to go on is movies and my own speculation. But I can imagine if someone spent enough time behind bars they might, I don't know, look like it. The tattoos really don't bother me. It gives him a bit more of a modern twist. Most of his ink looks professional except for the HAHAHAHAHA's on his left arm; they look like his own work if you ask me. Maybe that is why he is wearing a purple glove on his right hand? And if you follow the hahaha's down his arm they become more and more sporadic, as though you can see his progression into madness. Also the two crazy smiley faces on his right arm and left hand look like they are perfect to put over his mouth and or someone else's. I have a vision of him holding his hand over the mouth of a hostage and taking a selfie. Or maybe he will use them on people he has killed... again for a selfie.

The silver teeth will definitely make his smile pop, but could something else be going on here? What if they aren't just for aesthetic purposes? What if they are replacements from when someone, I can't imagine who, punched him in the face... a lot... a whole lot. Yup, I'm talking about Batman. It makes since right? He had to get ALL of his front teeth fixed after numerous encounters with the Dark Knight. Warner Brothers has also commented on this new Batman having steel knuckles built into his gloves. Hmmmm...

This new look is sure to be the cause of some controversy, but I am willing to bet it will end up being a magnet that puts bodies in the theaters. Time will tell. One other thing that will be debated is how he doesn't look as classy as he has in the past (except for the Dark Knight, but people will omit that one to suit their argument). I think the more important element is that he looks unstable. He is the loose cannon in Batman's rogues gallery. He is unpredictable. He is feared because he is erratic. There is no way to predict his next move. That is the number one defining characteristic, and the number one reason he is such a good villain for Batman. And if you ask me... this new Joker looks unpredictable.

But there is always the possibility that this is just a hoax directly from the studio just to ruffle some feathers. Wouldn't that be a bad joke? Hahahahahahahaha...

What are your thoughts? This should make for a good pole. I probably don't have to ask you, but please leave a comment below.
