It was announced last year around the time that X-Men: Days of Future Past was released to home video that there were plans in the works to release a Rogue Cut of the film in the summer of 2015 that would re-integrate all of the footage (more than 17 minutes) that was cut, featuring a sub-plot involving fan favorite character Rogue, played by Anna Paquin. The only thing of Paquin to survive to the theatrical cut was a very brief cameo of her in the "fixed" version of the future (and yes, people, that was the future, not the present). Well, after months of hearing nothing much else on the subject, except for assurances that this release would compliment, not replace, the original release for anyone who has already bought the film on blu-ray or DVD, we finally have something. An image was released of the art for a steelbook release of the Rogue Cut.
Now, whether this will be a store exclusive for either Target, Walmart, Amazon or Best Buy, or the actual release for everyone has not been revealed. Also no word on the unique features this cut is supposed to bring with it, however if you notice the spine, it does indicate that this release will contain 2 blu-ray discs, and since Fox has already said the original cut won't be included, it would seem to indicate that this release will be packed with new bonus features, for those of us who are into that sort of thing. As always, we will keep you updated as new information, including a concrete release date, becomes known.
