Today, Jared Leto's Joker was revealed! And I may be in the minority that actually like it. Because of this, I've decided to review the Joker's look from 1966-2016.
In 1966 when Batman '66 first aired, not only did we get to see Batman and Robin on television. Cesar Romero's appearance was very comic-based at the time. I really liked it. It was the closest that they could get. Although his suit was pink and not purple it was very authentic. I rate this 8/10 as not only is his portrayal was very silly.
"Gotham City. Always brings a smile to my face."
Jack Nicholson was next to play the Joker in Batman '89. This costume was very comic based and it over took Romero's look. I really like how they put implants in his face to give him and ever lasting smile in serious situations. His costume was very authentic and his make-up was brilliant. I rate this 10/10 as it is very close to being identical to the comic Joker and again, silly.
"Why so serious?"
After Nicholson came Heath Ledger, my favourite Joker and the fan-favourite. Ledger's look was very orignal and you could trace similarities in his look. I really liked this look as his make-up was more 'realistic' it wasn't perfect, it was very sinister looking. He was very orignal and absolutely brilliant. I rate this 10/10 as it was evil and not silly. He was very shuttle and very dark.
In 2016, The Joker will be played by Jared Leto! As I have said, I'm in the minority who like this look, he looks very psychopathic. The tattoos are a great touch, he looks like he's done them to himself whilst in his cell in Arkham Asylum. Also the way that he has tooth fillings as though he's been beaten up so many times. The same with the scars. I also saw some interesting fan-art that show him off as the Joker from the killing Joke. But it has been speculated that he is going to be based off the Joker from 'The Dark Knight Returns' Overall, I would rate this 9/10 as it looks very alternative and more crazy than crazy.
