1. The Babadook (2014)

In this chilling gem it's brought back something that hasn't been seen since "Rosemary's Baby" , 6 years after the violent death of her husband Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. While struggling to discipline her " out of control " 6 year old son Samuel (Noah Wiseman) who she finds impossible to love. When a gruesome storybook called "The Babadook" appears at their house , Samuel is convinced The Babadook is who he's been dreaming about and who is trying to kill them both. Amelia frightened by her sons behavior is forced to medicate him , but soon she realizes the thing her son has been dreaming about may be real.

2. Absentia (2011)

After 7 years , Tricia (Courtney Bell) a pregnant woman , who lives in a Los Angeles valley , finally comes to terms that her missing husband Daniel (Morgan Brown) isn't coming back home , as she prepares to declare her husband "dead in Absentia" , formally drug addict sister , Callie (Katie Parker), comes to stay with her. Together , they work to obtain Daniel's death certificate and a new apartment for Tricia. Though soon , things take a turn for the worst Tricia starts experiencing these horrifying nightmares and hallucinations about her husband. While Callie , runs into a gaunt man who is shocked she can see him and begs her to contact his son.

3. Oculus (2013)

Ten years ago , tragedy struck the Russel family , leaving the lives of teenage siblings Kaylie (Karen Gillan) and Tim (Brenton Thwaites) changed forever. Now 20, Tim newly released by protective custody only wants to move on with his life , while Kaylie ; still haunted by that horrifying night is convinced her parents death were caused by something else altogether. Maybe a Malevolent supernatural force unleashed through the Lasser Glass , an antique mirror in their childhood home. Kaylie tracks down the mirror learning that the same deaths have befallen the previous owners throughout history. Tim and Kaylie soon realize that their touch with reality , has been shattered by horrible hallucinations , and realize that its much too late , that their childhood nightmare is beginning again.

4. The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Three film students go on a trip to Maryland to make a short student film about a local legend "The Blair Witch" . The three set off and out into the woods on a two day hike to find The Blair Witch but never returned. A year later , the student film footage was found in the woods and compiled and made into a movie.

5. Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)

Renai (Rose Byrne) is interrogated by a police detective about the supernatural events going on inside her home , while the police investigation continues the Lamberts temporarily move into Lorraine's (Barbara Hershey) old home. Renai is haunted by a woman in white and Josh (Patrick Wilson) has some strange behaviors at home. Meanwhile Lorraine seeks out Elise's (Lin Shaye) old partners Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker (Angus Sampson) expecting to find the answer to their problems.
