EDIT:

Silent Hills is Cancelled!

From Daryl himself:

Original Story down below:

A few weeks ago when fans first started to get wind that something must have gone terribly wrong between Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and Konami, it left a lot of fans wondering what the future had in store not only for the MGS franchise, but also on Silent Hills. After the tremendous success of the PT demo that hit the PS Store last summer, this was a game that suddenly popped up on everyone's radars and we've heard nothing about it since then.

You're tearing me apart, Lisa!
You're tearing me apart, Lisa!

Kojima's camp wasn't commenting on the matter and Konami was as quiet as a corpse. What did it all mean? Well unfortunately, fellow horror fans, today we have our answer.

Last night at the San Francisco International Film Festival during a Q&A with Guillermo del Toro, one fan asked whether his collaboration with Kojima on the project was still moving forward, and this was del Toro's response:

And there you have it.

Now keep in mind, this only means that Guillermo del Toro and Kojima are no longer working on the project. It doesn't necessarily mean that the project itself is cancelled. It's very possible that Konami will continue work on the game themselves without del Toro and Kojima.

Whatever happened between Kojima and Konami, it's safe to say that the fans got caught in the crossfire.

Poll

With del Toro and Kojima no longer involved, are you still excited for Silent Hills?
