When Lou finds himself in trouble by getting his penis shot off, Nick and Jacob fire up the hot tub time machine in an attempt to get back to the past. But they inadvertently land in the future with Adam Jr. Now they have to alter the future in order to save the past.
I always get let down by comedy sequels, but jumping back into Hot Tub Time Machine was surprisingly fun. Most of the cast returns including Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke who reprise their roles and are funnier than in the first movie. Also we have new characters introduced into this films universe. Adam Scott joins the main cast and fits right in as a kind of square character that stupidly listens to Lou. Gillian Jacobs plays his loving soon to be wife and the always funny Kumail Nanjiani plays a disgruntled Lougle employee.
I enjoyed this story a lot more than the first movie but it's hard not to think that they are redoing a raunchier version of Back To The Future. The laughs in Hot Tub Time Machine 2 are strong and the film has lots of unforgettable one liners. I strongly love that the movie pokes fun at itself and makes fun of the way other comedy movies are written.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 may become a forgettable movie but it's a fun ride with tons of laughs and it gives me hope for more good comedy sequels that are as good or better than the first film. Cheers and remember life won't suck as long as there is a good movie to watch.
