Following the events of Avengers Age of Ultron, the Avengers team changes drastically. Many members go their separate ways, and a lot of new allies join up and become full fledged Avengers.

Its clear that some members of the original Avengers have had their fill of Avenging. Heres who left the team by the end of Avengers 2, and why...

Anyone who saw any of the trailers for Age of Ultron knows that Black Widow and Hulk were in a relationship. Playing on the beauty and the beast concept, the relationship had a lot of bumps in the road. What with Bruce unable to control his rage, and the inability to have children, he feels he'd never be able to have a family of his own. Natasha also reveals that she is unable to have children. There was a procedure done to her during her Black Widow training to make that so, this way she could never have the distraction of a child during a mission.

In the end, we see Hulk in a Quinjet leaving the battle of Sokovia. The ship is in stealth mode, so no one can track it. He shuts down all communications, and hangs up on Natasha. Hulk just wants to be left alone, and his fate is unknown at this time. Will Hulk return to the team? Only time will tell.

2. Iron Man

It seems that Tony Stark is taking a step back from the Avengers. He feels guilty for a lot of the struggles they've faced. He might want to just take a step back and focus on other things.

Its the end. The end of the path I started us on.
-Tony Stark

At the end of the film, he's going around saying his goodbyes. He may be leaving the Avengers team officially, but we know he'll be back. Robert Downey Jr. was just confirmed to reprise his role of Tony Stark in Captain America III: Civil War.

3. Thor

Just minutes before Tony Stark leaves, Thor opens the bifrost and heads back to Asgard. Thor has been on Earth for a while now. After the events of [Thor: The Dark World](tag:206462), Thor left Asgard to come to Earth and be its protector. When he left Asgard, Odin gave him his blessing to pursue happiness on Earth. We all know that when Odin said this, he was actually Loki in disguise!

Right now, Thor thinks his brother Loki is dead, Asgard is safe, and Earths battles have been won for now. When he returns to Asgard, will he learn the truth? Will he find Asgard in ruins and Loki standing as its true King?

Its pretty likely, considering the title of Thor 3. Ragnarok actually means the death of the powerful ones. In Marvel, it means the death of all the gods.

4. Hawkeye

Hawkeye is presumably off the team, at least temporarily. We find out in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035) that Clint Barton not only lives a double life, but has a wife and two kids with one on the way. At the end of the movie we see that Hawkeyes new son has been born. This probably invokes some sort of paternity leave? I'm assuming that being an Avenger offers benefits like that. They probably all get a nice salary and 401K or something too.

Whatever the case may be, it's assumed that he'll be taking some time off to take care of his wife and children. So if he's not off the team permanently, is it at least on some sort of extended break.

With 4 of the original 6 Avengers leaving the team, theres a lot of shoes to fill! Avengers Age of Ultron showed a lot of characters previously known to the Marvel films as sidekicks doing some pretty heroic stuff, and it seems they're sticking with the idea of having a team of 6 Avengers.

1. Scarlet Witch

We all knew she'd be joining the team as a full fledged Avenger by the end of the movie. She and her brother Quicksilver start out as evil, but realize what Ultron is doing and decide that his actions go too far. Wanda feels guilty for allowing Ultron to take his plan so far, and is having a bit of a breakdown during the final fight. Hawkeye steps in and gives her a pep talk.

If you cant do this, Ill send your brother to find you and no one will judge. But if you step out that door, and you fight and fight to kill, you're an Avenger!

Of course, she steps up to the plate and helps the Avengers take Ultron down. We see her in New Avengers base at the end as well, sporting a new outfit.

2. Falcon

The only New Avenger to not really do much during the events of Age of Ultron. We do learn that off screen, Sam Wilson has been tracking down leads to try and find the Winter Soldier. The leads are all going cold unfortunately.

When the call goes out for more Avengers, its likely that Steve Rogers' first instinct is to call Falcon in. Sam's Falcon suit gets an updated paint job too! The picture above is fan made, but it does give you a fair idea of what he'll look like from now on.

3. War Machine

No longer Iron Patriot, Jim Rhodes is back as War Machine! He gets the Avengers call during the final battle against Ultron. He flies in, seemingly out of nowhere, and fends off Ultron's drones as the Avengers try to find a way to safely get the floating city back on the ground.

Clearly with Iron Man taking a step back from the Avengers, they need a metal suited iron soldier, and Jim Rhodes is by definition, a soldier. Being a Lt. Col., War Machine is two ranks below Captain Steve Rogers.

4. The Vision

The Vision is quickly becoming everyones new favorite Avenger, and for good reason. Long loved AI JARVIS was instilled into a synthetic android body who can fly, has super strength, can shoot lasers, phase through walls and objects, and is imbued with one of the all powerful Infinity Stones ON HIS FOREHEAD. Also, he is the first character in the MCU to actually be worthy enough to lift Thor's hammer, Mjolnir!

All those awesome things push The Vision to becoming what he is now. He appears to be inherently good as well. He is born, and then moments later he is preaching about how to defeat Ultron as a team and how all forms of life are precious. His birth is rather tragic though, as the Infinity War is coming, and Thanos will need the Mind Stone. Since we know this, we know that Thanos will either kill Vision, or seriously injure him in the coming movies to get the stone from his forehead.

Consisting of original members Captain America, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Vision, and Falcon, the New Avengers will certainly be a force to be reckoned with. The whole New Avengers team will be returning for Captain America III: Civil War.

Who knows how the events of the Civil War will affect the future of the MCU. All we know is that these heroes are just joining the team, and now the government will step forward in some capacity to shut them down or at least hold them accountable for the damage their battles cause.

Avengers Assemble!

[Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) hits theaters May 6th, 2016!
