That surprise? Our first full look at Jared Leto's all-new, all-shocking take on The Joker.

Which, as it turns out, sparked about as much of a major Twitter-storm as you might imagine - and, while many fans love the look, there was inevitably a little outcry...and some particularly hilarious responses.

So, from our (distinctly-not-Heath-Ledger-a-like) first look...

...we swiftly ended up with a whole load of meme-fuelled awesomeness, including:

An Old-School Alternative...

A Good Moment For (International) Beliebers...

A Look at What Could Have Been...

An Intriguing Spin-Off Option...

A Fair Comparison...

Along With Some Others...

Batman Getting in on the Action

And, because Spider-Man writer Dan Slott is awesome...

An Intriguing New Plot Theory...

Along With a Valid Request...

All of which adds up to a whole lot of funny. The two most important general sentiments to end up online, though?
