This past weekend ABC screened the shocking interview between Diane Sawyer and the famous athlete and reality TV star Bruce Jenner. Jenner bravely sat down and revealed that he was transgender and "for all intents and purposes... a woman.”

The revelation came after months of rampant speculation by the media after Jenner had appeared in public with longer hair, a shaved Adam's apple and painted nails. Bruce's brave decision to speak out about his transition (Bruce indicated that during the interview male pronouns like 'he' and 'him' are fine, though he will eventually swap to female pronounces like 'she' and 'her') has opened up a dialogue around the topic of transgender people like never before, and he has totally won the support of some of the biggest names in showbiz.

Take a look at a collection of celebrities supporting Bruce in the aftermath of his interview:

The Kardashian Kids

Of course his children and step-children were out in full force to show support for their father with a series of tweets

Kim Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian

Mike Tyson

Retired boxer Mike Tyson stepped up and gave his fellow sportsman Jenner, a retired Olympic gold winner, his full support in this touching tweet.

While Bruce Jenner's interview may not have been held with the queen of intense interviews, Oprah, it was clear that she threw her full support behind his decision to reveal the truth publicly.

Sam Smith

Singer Sam Smith tweeted his love and also shared his disdain for those judging Jenner and his plight.

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres is a celebrity who knows all about the harrowing journey of revealing one's true self to the general public when all those years ago she came out as a lesbian on her TV show Ellen, and it was clear she was more than proud of Bruce's actions.

Rob Lowe

Parks and Recreation actor Rob Lowe sent out his words of encouragement, referencing Bruce's gold medal olympic win back in Montreal in 1976.

Lady Gaga

Unconventional musician Lady Gaga also gave her full support. As a singer with a diverse and varied fan base she had nothing but love to give to Bruce.
