Everyone has a little love for Star Wars, whether it's the cute and cuddly Ewoks or the menacing bounty hunters, everyone is fond of something, it offers so much variety of what you can do within the Star Wars universe. So it's unsurprising to why Bryan Singer decided to include this AWESOME easter egg in 20th Century Fox's X-Men Apocalypse.

From what we know so far, X-Men Apocalypse will be set 10 years from X-Men Days of Future Past (2014) so that will have it ending up in the early eighties. So you might be wondering, what does this have to do with Star Wars?

Well if you are good with dates, you might remember that Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was released in May of 1983 and clearly Bryan Singer has taken this opportunity and used it in one of the coolest and most unexpected ways ever.

This is so damn awesome! This is seriously one of the coolest references that could have been done, with the time period that anticipated sequel is based around. Props to Bryan Singer and the team over at 20th Century Fox.

X-Men Apocalypse is set to hit theatres 27th of May, 2016 and is confirmed to star Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X, Rose Bryne as Moira MacTaggert, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Nicholas Hault as Beast, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Lucas Till as Havok and Ororo Munroe as Storm.
