May is just around the corner and it's the official start of the Summer movie season, so lets kick things off with May 1st! Following release dates are U.S Domestic.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - May 1st

Starring: Robert Downey Jr (The Judge), Chris Evans (Snowpiercer), Chris Hemsworth (In The Heart Of The Sea) and Mark Ruffalo (Foxcatcher).

Directed By: Joss Whedon (The Avengers).

Rated PG-13, Anticipation - 10/10.

The summer's most anticipated movie is out in just a few days for you American's, the rest of the world has been watching it for the past few days now and you can all rest easy because well....it's really good!

This highly anticipated sequel brings Marvel's Avengers back together after they branched off to do their solo films in Phase 2. After Tony Stark awakens an alien A.I and tries to use to his advantage, he and the rest of the Avengers are faced with the consequences; global destruction. It's up to the Avengers to fight together and stop Ultron from carrying out his evil plans.

The trailers for "Age Of Ultron" have been fantastic and whilst the film doesn't go as dark as those trailers promised, it's one hell of a ride. You can check out my review here. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - Movie Review .

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD - May 15th

Starring: Tom Hardy (The Revenant), Charlize Theron (Dark Places) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men Apocalypse).

Directed By: George Miller (Mad Max).

Rated R, Anticipation 9/10.

In a post-apocalyptic world, in which people fight to the death, Max teams up with a mysterious woman, Furiousa, to try and survive.

Max is back, this time played by Tom Hardy. The film is neither a reboot or sequel, it's set in the same world as the classic "Mad Max" films but acts as more of a separate story of Max rather than a follow on from the last film.

The trailers have been insane! The cars, post apocalyptic landscape and crazy characters are all back and from what I'm hearing the film is a non stop ride from beginning to end that is not going to disappoint.

PITCH PERFECT 2 - May 15th

Starring: Anna Kendrick (Into The Woods), Rebel Wilson (Night At The Museum 3), Hailee Steinfeld (Begin Again) and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games).

Directed By: Elizabeth Banks (Directorial Debut).

Rated PG-13, Anticipation 6/10.

After a humiliating command performance at Lincoln Center, the Barden Bellas enter an international competition that no American group has never won in order to regain their status and right to perform.

After the surprising hit that was "Pitch Perfect" the girls are back for more in which looks to be an entertaining follow up. This time Elizabeth Banks, who had a small role in the first film, is in the directors chair. This is Banks' first feature directing effort.

TOMORROWLAND - May 22nd

Starring: George Clooney (Hail, Caesar!), Britt Robertson (The Longest Ride) and Hugh Laurie (House).

Directed By: Brad Bird (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol).

Rated PG, Anticipation 9/10.

Bound by a shared destiny, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.

Brad Bird's "Tomorrowland" is one of my most anticipated of the summer for two reasons. Reason 1; I don't know anything about it. I saw the films first teaser and I have stayed clear since because I know this is a movie I want to be surprised by. Even Brad Bird himself said when the newest trailer released last week that if you're already sold on the movie....then don't watch the trailer. Reason 2; Brad Bird. This is a director I am very fond of, he first showed us his talents with the heart warming "The Iron Giant" and then went on to astound us with "The Incredibles" and "Ratatouille", two of Pixars finest films. Then he broke into live action with 2011's "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" which is arguably the best in the series and rejuvenated a lot of peoples love for the franchise.

"Tomorrowland" looks beautiful, original and mysterious (from what I've seen, so please no trailer spoilers) and I can't wait for it!

SAN ANDREAS - May 29th

Starring: Dwayne Johnson (Furious 7), Carla Gugino (Sin City), Alexandra Daddario (True Detective) and Paul Giamatti (The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

Directed By: Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island).

Rated PG-13, Anticipation 7/10.

In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue his estranged daughter.

The first teaser for "San Andreas" really intrigued me, I'm a big fan of disaster films and in recent years we haven't seen a lot of great ones. The trailers have impressed me and I think it looks like a lot of fun.....but then I saw who was directing the film. Brad Peyton's best known work is "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" and "Cats & Dogs 2: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore"....so excuse me for not being more excited. Besides that I am looking forward to seeing "San Andreas" even if the only reason is Dwayne Johnson who can just about sell any movie. I guess we'll have to wait until May 29th to see if it's any good.

So there you go guys, those are the biggest movies hitting cinemas this May! Which ones are you most excited for? Let me know down below in the comments!
