E3 - the world's leading exhibition show for video games, bringing together the best and brightest from the video games industry to showcase new games, new technology and overall awesomeness over 3 days. Gamers from around the world flock to the Los Angeles Convention Center to see what developers and publishers are working on, get their hands on early access versions of games, and get tonnes and tonnes of loot! Fortunately for the rest of us who can't go, we have YouTube and live streams of game unveilings to keep our curiosity sated and get our hype up. So, here are 5 games that' I'm excited for at E3!
One of the games, by far, that I'm keeping my eye on is the new installment in the Borderlands series, Borderlands 3. From the barren wastelands of Pandora, to the desolate, zero-grav environment of Elpis, the Borderlands series has given us a witty, crudely humorous, action-packed story and thrown players against dangerous creatures and aliens, bandits and psychos, killer robots and a maniacal corporate overlord. The next chapter in the series is bound to give us more of what we already love about the series, but that's not the interesting point. Gearbox are actively looking for anyone and everyone to come together and help bring this game to life, meaning that the game is literally in the hands of dedicated fans. Welcome back to Pandora, kiddo...prepare to die.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
The Deus Ex series has a long history, with the first game being released in 2000, as a FPS-RPG game. Deus Ex allowed players to follow in the footsteps of JC Denton as he unravels the mystery behind the 'Grey Death' virus and the 'Ambrosia' vaccine in a futuristic, cyberpunk universe. With the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the series took players back in time to show them where it all began, now playing as private security badass, Adam Jensen. Mankind Divided continues on from where Human Revolutions left off, in the aftermath of the Aug Incident, where mechanically augmented people are segregated from society and various terrorist attacks decimate huge numbers of innocents. I'm excited to see where Mankind Divided takes us, what new augmentations we're given to play with, and how your choices from Human Revolution carry over into the story, atmosphere and character interactions. Although Jensen didn't ask for this, it's exactly the kind of action-packed game we want!
Kingdom Hearts 3
Having grown up playing the Kingdom Hearts games, its evident that I would be overwhelmed with excitement at the mention of Kingdom Hearts III. Combining the best of Disney and Final Fantasy, the Kingdom Hearts series has brought to life an immense world of fantasy and adventure for gamers young and old to enjoy. We follow the story of Sora, joined by Donald Duck and Goofy, as he journeys from world to world bringing light to those who would see darkness consume all, and to find his childhood friends, Riku and Kairi, after they were separated from their home of Destiny Island. Continuing on from where Dream Drop Distance left off, Sora, Donald and Goofy will have to search for the seven guardians of light in an attempt to stop Master Xehanort's plan to balance the light and the darkness. So grab your Keyblade, plenty of potions, and get ready for another awesome adventure!
Mass Effect 4
Mass Effect 3 ending jokes aside, Mass Effect is one of the best RPG game series to date, setting new gameplay standards in RPGs, giving gamers a compelling story to play through, and creating a number of memes on the internet. Playing as Commander Shepard, we are led across the universe in an effort to protect all life from the advances of the Reapers, huge insect-like machines with one goal - the eradication of all sentient life in the universe. Throughout each game we have to forge alliances, solve mysteries, romance various members of our crew, and to prominently state that every store on the Citadel is our favourite store on the Citadel...anything for a discount, right? Despite the 'less-than appealing' ending of Mass Effect 3, I'm excited to see how the story continues in Mass Effect 4 after the defeat of the Reapers and the destruction of the Mass Relays, and how our actions from the previous games combine as the legend of the Shepard.
Mirror's Edge 2
I still remember playing Mirror's Edge for the first time, and I was left awe-struck at how pretty the game was, how amazing the gameplay was, and how it changed the focus of most first-person action games from defeating all your enemies to only taking out key enemies that will allow you to escape and move forward in the game. And the parkour mechanics introduces a level of creativity of navigating the city environment, giving the players the freedom to choose how they proceed forward through each level. I'm intrigued to see where the story of Faith Connors, a Runner/courier transporting highly sensitive information, leads in Mirror's Edge 2, and what new additions to the gameplay we can expect. Only one thing is for certain...jumping from building to build is still going to be awesome.
