Not that it is to be taken as gospel, but a recent check of the imdb page for Warner Brothers 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has an interesting cast listing.

Actor David Bianchi is listed as playing one time Robin Jason Todd. Accepting this on the surface as true and speculating (as fans do) on the implications of this role. One can only assume that rumors of the appearance of the Red Hood in the DC shared universe may actually be true.

David Bianchi ...Jason Todd?

Earlier reports on the script said that Dick Grayson/Nightwing would appear in the film but that his relationship with Bruce Wayne/Batman would be estranged. However recent set photos have been circulating of a tombstone containing the name Richard John Grayson indicating that the first Robin may be dead in this continuity. The recent photo of Jared Leto's Joker sporting several tattoos, one possibly of a "dead robin" have added more speculation to the mix.

Another dead Grayson?

Traditionally (in the comics) Jason Todd is the Robin that was killed by The Joker, not Dick Grayson. With Nightwing being such a popular character it would seem strange and unwise to have him killed off before he even appears on screens. Jason Todd, though murdered by the Joker did return to comic book pages as the Red Hood (an earlier identity of the Joker ironically) and he also has become a very popular character in DC Comics.

It will be interesting to see where this leads in the next few years.
