I love comics, both DC and Marvel, though I tend to lean more towards DC. I love a lot of shows I started watching as a kid (SOME Power Rang

So here we go ladies and germs; my first post on this site. As a massive Whovian, I decided I wanted to open with something Doctor Who related, and, after deliberation, decided it should be the top 10 outfits of the Doctor in Nuwho. Please Note; shirt swaps / bowtie swaps don't count as a change of outfit. So, here we go.

10: The Eleventh Doctor in "The Eleventh Hour"

Still cooking...

So, we're opening with this. I debated including this, since it's technically the same outfit as appears later on. However, it has it's own flare. The Eleventh Doctor's first outfit was... The Tenth Doctor's severely tattered one. It was cool, yes, and led to the great "to hell with the raggedy" scene wherein he strips off and Rory gets embarassed, but overall, it's easily my least favourite on this list.

9. The Ninth Doctor

Guess he's busy feeling the turn of the Earth...
Guess he's busy feeling the turn of the Earth...

So, next up is the Ninth Doctor's outfit. It's not bad, it's just not anything special. It's also probably the least Doctory outfit the Doctor has ever worn. Except, of course, for our next entry.

8. Tenth Doctor in "The Christmas Invasion"

Not Witchcraft... Just TIme Lord
Not Witchcraft... Just TIme Lord

So, our next entry is definitely the least Doctory; the Doctor in someone else's pyjamas! Of course, some people would argue that makes it the most doctory outfit. Who knows. Heheh, get it? Who knows.

7. Eleventh Doctor in "Let's kill Hitler" et al.

Apparently, he felt like stealing Jack's look....
Apparently, he felt like stealing Jack's look....

So, next up is the Eleventh Doctor's second costume, which alternated as much as Ten's brown and blue suits. I do really like this one. However, it feels too much like the writers deciding to make him more like Ten by giving him his own big coat. Plus, even if you discount that, there's still the similarity to Jack's outfit. Overall, nice outfit, not so good on originality.

6. The Twelth Doctor in "Deep Breath" et al

Chalkboards are cool...

So, here's another one I really do like, just not enough to put higher up the list, and again, it's for a lack of originality. It just feels like they've taken Eleven's final outfit, removes the bowtie and muted the color scheme. That being said, the red ling it sports is fantastic, and a very nice throwback to the Third Doctor.

5. The Tenth Doctor in "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood"

Like fire, and ice and rage...
Like fire, and ice and rage...

So, going into the top five, we have The Doctor... Not being The Doctor. When he made himself Human, he got this new look to go with it, and I have to say, I like it. Hell, I like the whole story, even if it is just an adaptation of a book originally featuring the Seventh Doctor. If I'm honest, I like to think that, within the continuity of the show, it was from this point that Eleven got his idea for his look from.

4. The Eleventh Doctor in "Eleventh Hour" et al.

Bowties are cool...
Bowties are cool...

Speaking of which, here he is, in all his tweed glory. I love the Indiana Jones inspired look, and loved it even more when he donned a stetson; whilst it wasn't quite the full Professor Henry Jones Jr. look (Indy wore a fedora, not a stetson), it was a great image, and enough to make me punch the air in fangasm. The timeless professor look really did work for Eleven, and, despite how good his following costume was, I'm not sure it really needed changing.

3. Tenth Doctor in "Rise of the Cybermen" et al.

The name's Who. Doctor Who.
The name's Who. Doctor Who.

So, at number 3, we have the Tenth Doctor in his formal wear. Complete with converse, of course! I love the 007 style of this, and they even drew attention to the similarity in "The Lazarus Experiment", to the Doctor's apparent approval. Not really much to say about this. It's almost, but not quite, a tux, and fits with the very smart casual look the Tenth Doctor had.

2. The Tenth Doctor in "The Christmas Invasion" et al.

The coat just goes on forever...
The coat just goes on forever...

So, in second place, we have the Tenth Doctor's primary outfit, and what can I say? It's a good look! This outfit worked well with the character, and really did fit in almost anywhere he went. Not so sure about when they went to Pompeii and no one paid it any heed though. I know the coat's long, but it's no toga!

And finally, Number 1:

1. The Eleventh Doctor in "Bells of St. John" et al.

Now where did I put those jelly babies...
Now where did I put those jelly babies...

So, here we have it. The (in my opinion) best costume of nuwho; the Eleventh Doctor's final look was timeless, a bit cooky and, I have a hunch, helped provide inspiration towards Twelve's look. My only gripe is the purple, but hey, it also adds to the charm.

So, to round up, the final score is:

Ninth Doctor: 1 Outfit (Rank 9).

Twelfth Doctor: 1 Outfit (Rank 6).

Tenth Doctor: 4 Outfits (Ranks 2, 3, 5 and 8).

Eleventh Doctor: 4 Outfits (Ranks 1, 4, 7 and 10).

Honorable mentions:

Eleventh Doctor Formal Wear ("The Big Bang" et al)

Twelfth Doctor Robot Outfit ("Deep Breath")

I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to kill you.

War Doctor ("Name of the Doctor" and "Day of the Doctor")

Eighth Doctor ("Night of the Doctor")

Physician, heal thyself...

So, that's it for my top ten! Please note, these are my opinions only. Hope you enjoyed it. Peace out!
