Suicide Squad director David Ayer unleashed our first proper look at Jared Leto's all new Joker, and, naturally, it managed to split the internet right down the middle, as the Clown Prince of Crime danced a merry jig in front of the swathes of apposing yay and naysayers. Pitchforks, flaming torches and all.
In my opinion he doesn't look that bad. The tattoos and the grills may be a little on the nose, but I'm up for any new attempt at one of best and most renowned villains in pop culture history.
Besides, Nu-Joker's shiny dental accessories may have a logical reason for existing. Taking too many hits to the face from the Bat may have dislodged them? Who knows.
Anyways, using Ayer and Leto's reveal as impetus, one plucky cosplayer named Mad Tony locked himself away in his lab, toiling away with the hair dye, the white body paints and, hopefully not, permanent marker, and has managed to throw together what could possibly be the very first Suicide Squad Joker cosplay!
Literally a day after Ayer uploaded the image to the infinite web, Mad Tony was out rocking the Leto look at Wizard World Comic Con in Las Vegas. That... that is an insane work rate, hats off to you!
Let's have a look at the cosplay then:
And here he is again, photographed by Green Phantom.
I'm sure that over the coming years, or maybe hours if this is anything to go by, we'll see loads of Suicide Squad Joker cosplays springing up at various comic cons around the country, but I doubt any will be able to capture the sheer sarcasm and cutting wit of Mad Tony's inaugural attempt at the icon.
What do you think of this cosplay?
