Today I watched Terminator 2 (T2) for the first time all the way through (I saw about half of it once but didn't finish it); T2 is the 1991 sequel to the 1984 film The Terminator which revolved around a dystopian future where humans and cyborgs are at war with each other, so to stop the human rebellion a cyborg (The Terminator) is sent into the past to kill the mother of the leader of the human rebellion. This time a new Terminator, the T-1000, is sent back in time to kill John Connor when he was a small boy; to protect him the human resistance sends back a reprogrammed T-101 (The Terminator from the first film). T2 is directed again by James Cameron and has returning stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick also star.

There are lot of positives to this film, which include: great action, good acting, the story progression is good, the film is paced well, the story is good and there is better CGI. To expand, the action in this film is better, more frequent and just cooler than the first film; unlike the first film where everyone performed ok but not great, the main cast in this film pull out good performances. I thought Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor played the role much better and more convincingly than the first, Arnie was given more lines in the role which he suits perfectly and Robert Patrick was awesome as the T-1000; the only performance I didn't like was Edward Furlong as John Connor because his character was a bit annoying, apart from that everyone else had serviceable performances like in the first film. Also unlike the first film the premise isn't the only thing that intrigued me, the second half of the film took interesting routes which was cool to watch; finally the CGI has had a vast improvement since the first film which can be put down to the time difference between the two films but it is still worth mentioning. The only negatives I can think of are that the story isn't complex and I wasn't emotionally attached to the characters.

Overall I preferred this film to the first and James Cameron managed to make this film more fun and entertaining to watch, and taking everything into consideration I rate this film:
