A while back, Rod Fergusson of Black Tusk addressed the possibilities of a Marcus Fenix Collection for the XBOX One, saying that they were not working on it. They were however developing another exciting Gears of War project. Due to a series of leaks and now confirmed reports, we now know that a remastered version of the first Gears of War is on the way for the Xbox One.

But what happened to Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3? Are Microsoft trying to get as much money out of the series as they can by releasing each game one at a time, as opposed to releasing one collection? Seems likely seeing as the Xbox One hasn't got a lot of exclusive games and its sales have been lower than those of the PS4 since its release date. OR, could Microsoft actually be releasing the first Gears of War as part of a bundle when Gears of War 4 finally gets its release date for the Xbox One?

Gears of War Remaster Bundled With Gears of War 4 on Release Date

Black Tusk have an enormous responsibility with reviving the Gears of War franchise on the Xbox One. That's not say that GoW: Judgement wasn't good, it just failed to eclipse the glory of the trilogy. But now that Fergusson is back where he belongs, we should be able to see a return to form with Gears of War 4. But this and Halo 5 really need to succeed for Microsoft - their console hasn't been getting a lot of positive attention lately.

Therefore, I doubt whether they'd be awesome enough to actually include the Gears of War remaster with the release of Gears of War 4. Things like that are long forgotten in the industry. But then what price do you think Gears of War should be sold at on its release date? I love that game, but I really want to be purchasing a Marcus Fenix collection rather than the lesser of three great games.

While I can't wait to see how they update Gears of War, after all that game has aged quite a bit, I do wish the collection was coming with too. However, Fergusson has said that he wants Gears of War 4 to be closer to the darkness of the original game. The consistency of the original is far more appealing to him and he hopes that Gears of War 4 can give players the same feeling on its release date for the Xbox One!
