So after seeing Age of Ultron, twice (I live in the UK.)
I began thinking about the strange, if not warranted romance between ScarJo and Ruffalo's Black Widow and Hulk.
But as a long time comic book fan and viewer of the MCU right from the beginning, I began to wonder... What ever happened to Bruce Banner/The Hulks first love? If you do not remember or have not seen the 2008 MCU-ish movie 'The Incredible Hulk' then allow me to refresh your memory.
That's right, the Liv Tyler portrayed Betty Ross, daughter of General 'Thunderbolt' Ross.
It seems that the MCU have all but forgotten about it, even Tony Stark who MET General Ross.
Sorry for the bad quality, but there he is, in the post credits scene of 'The Incredible Hulk.'
So my question is, are these two characters completely forgotten about? It seems there is no indication of either William Hurt or Liv Tyler coming back to the MCU, which is a shame, but I guess they left when Ed Norton did.
But what does this have to do with Iron Man's Hulkbuster armour?
To cut a long story short, the Hulkbuster armour is code named 'Veronica' as the one thing that can de-hulk the Hulk when Black Widow is not around to lullaby.
What does the name Veronica have to do with anything? Nothing on it's own, but with another name, everything.
Ever heard of Archie comics?
The two girls who had Archie's constant attention in the Archie comics, Betty and Veronica.
Perhaps Bruce told Tony about Betty or Tony knew of Betty through General Ross, either way, knowing Tony's sense of humour and growing up around the time of Archie comics, it seems pretty plausible that the name 'Veronica' was not chosen at random and was very much picked to wind up Bruce.
Tell me your thoughts on this theory what do you think? Is it plausible that even though the actors have gone, the MCU will never really forget about the Ross's?
