The Pitches are back and ready to rumble! I had the chance to see an early screening of Pitch Perfect 2 and without spoiling anything for you, I'm going to give you five reasons why you need to see this movie.

1. Pitch Perfect 2 is better than it's predecessor

That's right, I said it. It's better than the first movie. Some reviews stated that it's practically the same movie, but they're wrong. There were things that I didn't like about the first (even though I really do love the first) and the sequel didn't share that.

For instance, in the first movie, I thought Anna Camp's character was almost too much of a control-freak and it got annoying at times. This time around (not to spoil anything) Anna Camp's character is quite grown up and pleasant in her own control-freak kind of way.

Another reason the sequel is better than the first is...

2. The new songs are phenomenal!

I bought the original Pitch Perfect soundtrack and I cannot wait for the new one. New girl to the Bellas, Emily (played by Hailee Steinfeld), has an incredible voice and sings a new original song that's totally bound to become a hit when the movie comes out.

3. Anna Kendrick's character takes a small step back and it's actually a good thing

She's still the highlight of the movie. So don't be worried. You'll get your Anna Kendrick fix, but the supporting cast members also get a little more limelight than they did in the original and it's brilliant! Rebel Wilson does a solo and kills it onscreen between her raunchy jokes and singing performances. There were times I was snorting because I was laughing so hard (which is quite embarrassing, I might add).

Speaking of jokes...

4. The movie is full of corny (in a good way) humor

I'm not kidding when I say I was snorting, I was laughing so hard. I left the movie theater with a big, stupid smile on my face. It felt really weird to leave a movie actually feeling good. On my commute back home, all I wanted to do was sing the new songs and dance. I know that sounds corny but it's embarrassingly true. Sadly, I wasn't born with the voice of Anna Kendrick, so I feel bad for whoever heard me (my windows were down).

5. It's a great movie not only for women but men, too

Yes, you heard me! Men will like this movie, too. Sure, it's not what you'd stereotypically think guys would be into but I can assure you, you're wrong on that account. Gentlemen, if you're reading this, don't be fooled. This movie is self-aware of who it wants to appeal to and that's not just to the ladies!

I don't want to spoil it for you so you'll just have to trust me.

As if my 5 reasons weren't enough, just watch the trailer:
