Are you ready for another summoning? The 2014 horror film Ouija is getting a sequel and it looks like it hopes to improve upon its predecessor. Universal pictures is planning to capitalize on their one hit horror movie which somehow managed to out-gross the cult hit action film "John Wick". The plot to film seemed basic but some how managed to bring out people in droves to go and see it.The film was generally panned by critics and received a 7% on rotten tomatoes but that doesn't appear to be a concern for the studio which sees that the film has the potential to become a cult hit horror franchise.

here was the plot synopsis of the first film:

Following the sudden death of her best friend, Debbie, Laine finds an antique Ouija board in Debbie's room and tries to use it to say goodbye. Instead, she makes contact with a spirit that calls itself DZ. As strange events begin to occur, Laine enlists others to help her determine DZ's identity and what it wants. As the friends delve deeper, they find that Debbie's mysterious death was not unique, and that they will suffer the same fate unless they learn how to close the portal they've opened.

Ouija was apparently based on a real life Ouija board experience that involved a group of individuals who supposedly awakened a Ouija board demon known as ZoZo and were haunted for a period of time,it was said that this demon spirit attaches itself to Ouija board players as well.Based on that it seems like the film had clear inspiration but many would like to debate that the film fell flat when it came to execution, and that it was just a series of jump scares.Ouija somehow managed to pull through and deliver something that was able to satisfy its target audience.

Ouija 2 has already been set for a 2016 release date and will be written by the writers of "Oculus". it was also stated by Deadline.com that the film would follow the same plot as the first movie and that it would include new characters and a new setting.Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes, and Brian Gold and Stephen Davis of Hasbro will produce once again.
