With the new Star Wars movie coming out later this year, it is only appropriate that I feature a fun little personal project I'm doing. I initially came up with the idea when Disney bought the rights for Star Wars. I was a little concerned to see that every mash up of Star Wars and Disney since then has been a cynical and jaded view of both properties. The negativity just seared through various parts of the internet. I decided to capture both properties in a more positive light.

I wanted to approach the subject with a more nostalgic and traditional retelling of the Star Wars mythos with classic Disney characters in the style of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" and "Mickey's Christmas Carol”. I have replicated a few scenes: three final versions, two with dialogue bubbles, and initial sketches. I did these on Pixelmator on iPad.

I have a few more of these in the works and may consider other films if people get a kick out of these. I am looking forward to seeing this movie once it comes out!

Ever since I was young, I was always fascinated by art. After winning an art contest as early as the first grade, I knew it was something I would excel in. Nowadays, art is an industry that has been overlooked and under appreciated. I am thrilled that the web has given me the opportunity to showcase my work for some much needed exposure.
