In a recent interview time with, Marvels Kevin Feige made a huge reveal that could change the Marvel cinematic universe as we know it. According to Feige, Marvel's cinematic universe contains within it not only one, but two Infinity Gauntlets. Check out that story here!

As the article on Cinemablend points out, the fact that there are two gauntlets makes a lot of sense. If you think about it, it doesn't make sense to make just one glove when you have two hands.

Beware! Major spoilers for Avengers 2 ahead!

The reason for this major reveal is the mid credits sequence in Avengers: Age of Ultron. We see Thanos himself opening a vault of some kind that contains an Infinity Gauntlet. He puts the gauntlet on immediately and proclaims...

"Finally! I'll do it myself."

One thing that I think is important to note is that here he puts the gauntlet on his left hand. But the plot thickens because during his interview with Cinemablend, Feige said:

"There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end."

Ok, so if there are two Infinity Gauntlets, where's the other one? Diehard Marvel movie fans will remember the Infinity Gauntlet from the weapons vault in Thor (2011).

It is also already fitted with what appears to be a complete stead of Infinity Gems. In the comics the gauntlet that Thanos uses is left handed. So is this right handed glove fitted with stones of its own just a knockoff? Or does it possess powers of mass destruction as well? Thor knows it exists in the weapons vault on Asgard, and when he left Earth at the end of Avengers 2, he didn't seem to be in any hurry to retrieve or hide it.

My theory is that this fake gantlet was created by those who sought to hide the Infinity gems long ago, casting the gems in all different directions across the cosmos. It would trick thieves and would-be conquerors into finding the fake gems, keeping the real ones safe.

Thanos, being such a powerful and knowledgeable villain, most likely possesses that information, and knows not to waste his time on the fake glove. Otherwise when he recruited Loki to do his bidding in Avengers (2012), he would have just had Loki sneak back into Asgard, retrieve the glove from the weapons vault, and give it to Thanos.

It sounds like Thanos is ready to take matters into his own, big, purple hands. His actions throughout Marvel's Phase 3 will lead to the Infinity War a.k.a. Avengers 3 Parts 1 and 2!

And of course, Avengers: Age of Ultron hit US theaters May 1st! Go see it!
